FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What technical equipment do I need to access sessions?

You will need a broadband internet connection, a webcam, preferably one with good picture quality, load speakers and a microphone or a headset with microphone. Sessions are run using Skype, AIM or MSN messenger. The links to download these programmes are available on the contact page.

If after the initial session I decide to proceed, is there a limit on the number of sessions I can book?
No there is no limit, but counsellingcam.com is not a long term therapy service. Through discussion the number of sessions can be agreed upon, and these can be revised jointly at any time.

How often would I have sessions?
Again this can be discussed during the initial session. Usually we would meet either once a week or once a fortnight. It would be up to you to decide on the frequency.

Do you offer sessions through email exchange or typed conversations in secure chat rooms?
No, counsellingcam.com specialises in providing real-time webcam counselling. I do not offer other services.

Do you offer couple therapy?
At the moment this is not an area I work in.

What happens if the connection breaks down during a session?
If there is a fault with either the counsellingcam.com equipment or our server, a replacement session will be offered free of charge as soon as possible. If the fault lies with the client’s equipment or their internet provider, no refund can be given.
